Bethel is about 500 members. I'll be worship pastor responsible for worship ministries. Do a little video, lots of creative stuff - ideas for videos, websites, staying connected to the church.
That sort of thing. We'll probably be living in Flint, on "this" side of Tyler. It's about six or seven minutes from the church.
Yeah, we're very excited. Sad to leave Lufkin...our friends, our family, so many great folks at FUMC. But we believe this is what God has for us.
So are all the worship services contemporary? How many services will you lead? Youth involvment? I'm very happy for you and your family. I'm sure you will have a blog post on all this but be detailed when you post.
Pretty cool! You can show us your church on the road trip!!
Yeah, Sunday am worship is two identical services. 9am and 10:30am.
They're relatively "contemporary" setups. Full band, good sound system, that whole thing.
I think we'll still be doing hymns a good bit - good chunk of folks who dig that. Also got some ideas on ways to connect and offer worship opportunities to older members who might not dig the contemp stuff as others.
At this point, there's nothing in my job description about working with youth worship, although I'm sure I will. The youth pastor, Mark, and I have talked about it some. Once I'm settled in, we'll try to work something out.
Yeah, next week, I'll be posting The Bethel Story so folks can know how it all got started.
And of course, Todd Blog and worshipnotes may end up turning into "Bethel Diaries" for awhile!
Congratulations Todd. We will certainly miss seeing you and the Fam around town, but Tyler's not too far away. (And thank God for the Barnes & Noble Bookstore!)
Bro , thats a great thing and Tyler is a great town. i hate it since we just attended lfmc last Sun. and you are a really great worship leader. You will be missed greatly (more than you realize). That will be cool. Will be great to see how all that progresses.
Congratulations Todd and Kristin!
Todd:
Congratulations to you and your family on this exciting adventure. When God calls you, that's where you need to be.
Your Mom said she was very excited for you. So, if she approves and God calls, who am I to say otherwise.
Will miss seeing you, but have your CD to keep your presence alive in Lufkin.
Good luck and God bless you, your family, and your new church family,
Sharon
