Skribit Week (#2)
NEAPOLITAN ICE CREAM?
I am known in these parts as a big fan of ice cream. And I do mean BIG.
But I'm not nuts about neapolitan.
Primarily, this is due to the fact that I'm not a big fan of strawberry ice cream. I can deal with the neapolitan version because it typically doesn't have little bits of strawberry included, which I happen to find disgusting. So, I can do the neapolitan...I just choose not to.

This aversion to strawberry does not work well with the secondary issue. Which happens to be my LOVE for chocolate and vanilla ice cream together. Blue Bell's "Great Divide" flavor is a work of genius. I can creatively and carefully control the chocolate-to-vanilla ratio, thereby ensuring a perfect, tailor-made bite each and every time. As you can see, adding a third flavor into this already almost perfect duo borders on heresy to my delicate taste buds.
If I am going to consume neapolitan ice cream, I prefer to ingest it in a different, better, more enjoyable, form
The Ice Cream Sandwich.
I know it doesn't make much sense, but for some reason, I find neapolitan better in sandwich form.
These are my thoughts. I'd love to know your take on this triple-flavored treat!

Live From The Highchair...
Thursday morning, Finley and I were in the kitchen eating breakfast.
I finish my cereal and walk over and pour myself a nice tall glass of chocolate milk.
Now, we don't keep chocolate milk in our house. Or, I should say that we can't keep chocolate milk in our house.
Because I will consume it.
All.
In one day.
But Kristen's mom had brough groceries last week and got some of that delicious stuff for us (I mean, me.)
So, I pour a glass and notice that Finley is staring at it.
"That?" she said softly.
Now, I had offered her some a few days ago and she declined.
"What, baby?"
"That?"
"That's chocolate milk," I say.
I wish I could adequately describe what happened. Her face fell into a hilarious look of utter confusion, as if she was saying,
"Wha - but you - chocolate? You...you...you can't do that."
It was a look of horror and shock and bewilderment at what this crazy grown-up world does do its milk.
But it also meant that she didn't want any. Bottoms up!

From Perez Hilton...
"This is something that we definitely will NOT be drinking! We need as much energy as we can get!
A beverage company has come out with an 'anti' energy drink called Drank.
Its tag line is 'slow your roll.' Pretty clever.
The drink's publicist called it the 'extreme relaxation beverage' that goes great with vodka.
The carbonated, grape-flavored beverage is spiked with melatonin, valerian root and rose hips.
What the heck?
Why?????
The creator was apparently thinking of the hip hop community when he concocted it.
The product's press release says, 'From design to production, every aspect of this calming drink was inspired by today’s popular hip hop artists who embrace the much sought-after hip hop lifestyle that encourages people to capture a stress-free state of mind.'
So, what we're gathering is that it's basically a pot high in a can or something that makes an E high last longer?
Drank up!"

A Story (and a snack) Well Worth The Time...
Those of you that follow Kristen's blog might remember that back in April, she took her "Golden Girls" trip. This is a trip that Krist takes with her three best friends from childhood. On the 2008 trip, they went to Florida and Kristen came back full of stories about this amazing place called Rosemary Beach where the girls stayed.
One of the Golden Girls, is Melissa, and she lives in Tennessee. Not long after their return, Melissa blogs about these chips she recently discovered. They're called "Julio's" and the girl seemed to have some sort of strange co-dependent thing happenin' with the chips. So, I read the blog one day and ask Kristen,
"Did you see that Melissa blogged about chips?"
"Yeah," Kristen said. "Those are the chips from our trip."
"Are they really that good?"
"They are amazing."
Meanwhile, Melissa is in full investigation mode, trying to find out where exactly these chips can be found. She knows that they are made in Del Rio, Texas and soon finds out that, though rare in lots of places, they are distributed to Lufkin.
And that's when Kristen went looking. A few days later, she finds them. She buys them. She gets in the car and opens them. And we eat them. All of them. All....of....them....
I'm not sure if they're the best all around chip. You know - good with burgers or queso or sandwhiches or as nachos, etc. I do know that they are the best stand-alone chip I've ever eaten. I'm serious...you eat these things by themselves. You don't need anything else.
So, while Melissa and her husband are busy trying to negotiate some some of deal wherein the Julio's people will distribute to Nashville, the Wrights now have a home stocked with the finest chips that Texas has to offer.

My wife knows that I'm trying to stay off the sweets these days.
So what does she do?
She buys a 12 pack of Big Texas Cinnamon Rolls.
Get thee behind me, Sinnamon Roll...
And yes, I am wearing a camp t-shirt that says "Call Waiting."

CRACKERS...
We all know that snacking is vital.
Well, it's important.
Okay...maybe we can technically live without those brief little munching breaks, but who wants to, right?
So, here's the question:
What's the best cracker for snacking?
If you're new to the blog, our surveys typically have a few ground rules:
1. You don't HAVE to explain your choice, but we all will like you much better if you do.
2. No name calling, no jeering...allow each and every person to celebrate their own identity within the realm of crackerdom. Diversity is the key.
3. No hijacking this idea on a slow blog day and slapping it on your site (without credit being given.) I'm talking to you, Mike James.
Alright...let's hear what you got.
By the way, you would probably be astounded at how many pictures of PREMIUM Saltine crackers are copyright-protected on websites. Took me an hour to find a .gif I could right-click. Sheesh, Nabisco, lighten up!

TV Dinner
Now, we all know that I don't like a lot of variety in my food, but for some reason, I love watching these people struggle to cook things that I would never eat.
Here's what I ate as I watched Hell's Kitchen: frozen pizza, a few slices of break and a little Red Cream Soda.
Depressing. (But delicious!)
