Set went well. As mentioned by Justin, we had just a few minutes to setup and run through a thing or two. Call me crazy, but I love running in and setting up like that - makes me feel alive!
I was impressed with everybody - Justin, Paul and Ryan were perfect and Chad's vocals were a nice addition. We also had great sound and projection folks.
Response from the students was encouraging - they seemed genuinely interested in the things were were saying and doing, which is always great.
Tomorrow's my last day at the courthouse. Pray for us, you guys. This transition has been a rocky one and we are living every day in faith that God is going to bring some peace and joy to our home and hearts.

Practiced late Tuesday night with Chad for the HHBC thing on Wednesday. It was quite fun, actually. His guitar is tuned DADGAD which makes for some pretty cool voicings on the songs. He's also got an amazing voice for the harmony stuff - it's like I'm singing with a woman.
I can't wait to play with the guys...here's our set for Wednesday night.
UNCHANGING (G)
FOREVER (A)
HERE IS OUR KING (A)
GLORIFY (F)
GRACE LIKE RAIN (F) Chorus only
I tell you what...it will be nice to be back at Harmony Hill. To stand on that stage where I once stood, to look out at the place where I used to make my church home, smile and say...
"LOOK WHAT YOU MISSED OUT ON, YOU BIG BUNCH OF MORONS!"
Revenge - what ministry is all about.

I know it was a re-run, but I hadn't seen it until last night on SNL. Maybe Prince is a freak and arrogant and evil incarnate, but his stuff last night was some of the most musically cohesive rock and roll I've heard in a long, long time.

I'll be playing Harmony Hill's college service, Solomon's Porch next Wednesday. I'll be going w/ Ryan, Paul and Justin, but I also asked Chad Jackson to come along and play 2nd acoustic and do some high-end bgv's.
I officially start at the church on Saturday, April 1st. Sounds like an easy first day, huh? Not so much. It's a church workday. Yeah. I said it. Like, bring your gloves and paint brushes and weed-eaters WORKDAY.
I'm writing again...nothing major, but I'm liking it. Plus, our church goes into a new CCLI reporting period.
Will you be reporting your own songs, Todd?
You think?
By the way, I'd just like to say that Blake Stewart had a post on his blog from Shaun Groves. Not too shabby, darkstew!

My recent experience with the medical profession left me with some observations. Below is a list of things I'm not comfortable with:
1. Female nurses still wearing their hair in the 1980's - poof thing.
2. Parmedics who smoke and/or have been married more than 3 times.
3. How high that hospital bed is capable of going.
4. Being visited by a doctor "on call."

The Conns were in Porter yesterday and spent the night, so they swung up to L-town on Monday for lunch. We went to Del Rio - it was good, but they no longer offer Vanilla. Yikes! My Diet Cokes will never be the same.
Oh yeah...I cut my hair really short. I mean, really short. In fact, Rob called me "Burr-head." How sweet.
Getting pumped about full-time, the Maryland gig, the record with Ross. All of that. I think the April issue of worshipnotes is going to be really good, too.
You know, the more time I spend with Robert Conn, the more I realize that I'll never - even on my best day - be as cool as he is.

Did I get a pre-release copy of Paul Baloche's new CD?
Yes.
Am I going to give it to any of you?
No freakin' way.

Well...here she is. Sorry it's taken us so long to put pics up. I'll try to be better about that.
Finley's doing great. She's sleeping okay, but we'll be glad when we can sleep all night long. (That may be awhile.) Her doctor visits are consistenly good and, to use Jason Fullen's famous line...we feel like we can "finally touch bottom."
I gave notice at the clerk's office yesterday. My last day will be March 31st and I'll start the church on the following Monday.
There's a ton of stuff happening these days - new baby, new job, fundraising for the CD, more gig opportunities, big dreams for the church. I hope to journal the church experience - my first full-time position in ministry - but that will be a personal journal and not a blog. (So I can be a bit more honest...)
I'm also trying to put together the next worshipnotes. There's just not enough time to stuff these days!

What I'm Digging...
The following records are getting major spinnage on the old ipod.
Bon Jovi - Have A Nice Day
Yeah. I said Bon Jovi. Good rock is good rock.
The Black Crowes - Shake Your Money Maker
Rough, raw, loud roadhouse blues. Makes me drive fast.
Jonny Diaz - Everyday God
I just love the way this record sounds. It's amazing.
Imogen Heap
She's just weird enough to be cooler than anything I've heard in a long time.

Hey...the blog was wigging out. Checking to see if it works.

The problem with gigging with Justin and Paul is that they both blog...in the next couple of days, you'll probably find reference to numerous fun and/or funny experiences that we had while on the road.
Gig notes: The retreat went great. I love playing with Ryan, Justin and Paul. Specific highlights were Here Is Our King and Lord of Life. My life is probably as busy as its ever been, but I cannot help but think that my gig opportunities are about to increase.

I'm off to my Tyler gig this afternoon. I'm excited and nervous- been awhile since I travelled. I feel really confident in the band...just not sure how responsive the kids will be.
On an unrelated note...I wasn't crazy about the new song Paul put on www.leadworship.com a few months back, however, he just uploaded "Hosanna" and I really like it. Go take a listen. (And thank you, Goldwave. Thank you very much.)
I'll let y'all know about the gig.
