I'm thinking Mark K. from Dire Straits...I'm guessing they knew nobody would know them w/o the "MTV" effect on the guitars.
that is a great guess, except for being incorrect. it is warren wiebe. he was a vocalist and session player from san diego. he was discovered by richard foster and burt bacharach. he died in 1998. look him up on wikipedia. in's on the internet, so it must be true!
