Ten observations after my recent weekend at Disciple Now for FBC Lake Jackson, TX.
- It is impossible to eat healthy at DiscipleNow.
- I start missing my family within one hour of leaving for DiscipleNow.
- Some form of technology will malfunction. Usually at the most inconvenient time.
- Youth pastors who stay up Saturday night to edit video deserve a medal. And a nap.
- I only need one thing to survive DiscipleNow...wifi.
- Whataburger would not survive without the "late night church crowd."
- You cannot go to bed at a decent hour during DiscipleNow. Seriously...I don't think it's allowed.
- Leading worship is fun. It's more fun when students are with you every step of the way. (Thanks, FBCLJ!)
- The Brazos Mall in Lake Jackson is carpeted. It surprised me, but in the end, I found it be quite nice.
- The band gets to play extra loud at DiscipleNow. And everybody's cool with it.
What about you? Got some DNOW observations?

Personally, I'm glad when the stinking band leaves. All they do is stay up late, hack into my wireless, eat all my junk food, blow my ears out, steal some microphone cables, and come in at odd hours after binging on fast food (particularly iHop and Whataburger).
Uh . . . your small group leader falls head over heels for your sister and, um, five years later he's your brother in law.
I whole heartedly disagree with #6. The thing that keeps Whataburger going is:
1. Awesomeness
2. Fancy Ketchup
3. Awesomeness
